Hey sis – lift your head up!

Whew! I don’t know about you but it’s been a rough few weeks for me. My life has been going on a roller coaster ride for awhile now and I’m so ready to get off! Because of everything I have going on this way, I just haven’t been that inspired to blog lately. It just seems like all of my energy has been put into dealing with life’s up’s and down’s that I’m literally drained at the end of it all.

Have you ever felt like that? Like life has just gotten so challenging that you don’t know where else to turn or who else to talk to?

Yeah I’ve been there too. And I’ve noticed that a lot of my followers are there as well. I know a lot of you are going through a lot in life right now. Many of you have either reached out to me personally or I’ve seen posted on your pages the trials and tribulations that your own roller coaster life is presenting you with. I’ve seen some of you who are in the hospital or have loved ones in the hospital fighting for their lives. I know others who have survived terrible car accidents or lost someone in a recent car accident. And still I know others of you who are fighting for your lives as you’ve reached out to me for help with an abusive relationship that you’re in.

Life can be tough and it shows no favoritism with respect to the punches and blows it hands out. So I just wanted to share this blog with all of you – with myself – of some of my favorite quotes and scriptures that help me get through a tough time. These are helping me get through this rough season as well and have helped me to find my way back to blogging as I know that’s what God would want me to do – even in the midst of the difficulties I’m facing.

I know this is different from what I usually post but I believe it’s important that we all take a step back to make sure our mental and emotional state of being are just as healthy as other aspects of our lives. My hope is that these quotes/scriptures will give you the encouragement to lift your head up as you face the challenges life is presenting your way. You got this sis! Though it feels like this challenging season is long, be confident in knowing that troubles don’t last always and your joy will come in the morning!

Scriptures of encouragement

Galatians 6:9:  “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

2 Corinthians 12: 9-10: “Each time he said, My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.  That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.:

2 Corinthians 4: 8-9: “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair.  We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.”

Psalm 46:5a: “God is within her, she will not fall.”

Hebrews 13:5b: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Quotes of encouragement

“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.”

“The moment you’re ready to quit is usually the moment right before a miracle/blessing happens. DON’T GIVE UP.”

“No matter how good of a woman you are, you will never be good enough for a man who isn’t ready.”

“Stay patient and trust your journey.”

“I am blessed by the BEST so I don’t worry about the rest.”

“Every storm in your life is followed by a rainbow.”

“When life gets hard, remind yourself that diamonds are made under pressure. And you, my dear, are a DIAMOND!”

Now this isn’t an all-inclusive list by any means but it is a list of some of my favorites that have really helped encourage me through tough times.
